We watched this movie starring on Denzel Washington and Val Kilmer on DVD over the weekend. It's a mystery with some sci-fi elements, but the sci-fi elements are muted and *just* beyond the edge of what is really possible with today's technology. It was quite enjoyable.

I watched this movie at my brother's house yesterday (he has a large DVD collection) and my main comment/complaint about the movie is. . .it was too dark. I don't mean it was "dark" in the psychological sense -- although it was -- but that it was *literally* too dark. You couldn't tell what was going on in half the scenes because there was so little lighting!! I guess the idea was that it was supposed to be scarier that way, but when you can't see anything that's going on, it's hard...

I saw this movie over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Has anybody else seen it? Without giving too much away, I'll just say. . .despite it's well-deserved R-rating,it struck me as a profoundly Christian movie, as its main themes were mercy and forgivness and whether or not a person who has done some horrible things in the past can ever truly be "born again" as a better human being.

This was a made-for-TV movie that aired on cable last
month; so I'm not sure if it belongs here or in the TV
section, but. . .good in some ways but confusing in others.
It had Lou Diamond Phillips as an Army detective and he was
good. But the plot involved a soldier who'd killed his wife
so that he could marry his pregnant girlfriend. They NEVER
explained why he simply didn't divorce her (they had no kids and
lived on an Army base, rather than owning a home, so it...
